WAPA Impact Analysis

This workflow assesses the impact of the BSP Applications from a Source system on a Target system, by performing a comparison of their component objects. The results are used to generate a Hierarchy report.

BSP Applications are obtained from the BSPWD_COMP_EXT table on the Source system. A derivative object map is used to compare component names from the Source system with BSP Applications from the Target system.

Parallel impact analysis

You can run the WAPA Impact Analysis workflow in parallel with other impact analysis apps and workflows.

Create RFC Destinations

Before you begin, you will need to create RFC Destinations for the Source and Target SAP systems.

Prepare the workflow

To prepare the WAPA Impact Analysis workflow, drag its workflow template from the Templates > Impact Analysis folder into your own workspace, and modify the workflow as follows:

To specify the Source and Target systems:

  1. Select the System1 parameter and choose Edit RFC Destination from its context menu to display the RFC Destination dialog.

  2. Select the RFC Destination for the Source system, then click Save.

Repeat the above steps to link the System2 parameter to the RFC Destination for the Target system.

Click Save tool button. to save the workflow.

Run the workflow

To run the WAPA Impact Analysis workflow, click the Run tool button. toolbar button, choose Run Now from the diagram’s context menu, or select F5. The currently running workflow action is marked with an animated display. When the workflow execution has completed, select the Report URL dataset and choose View Details from the context menu to access the generated report.

Workflow results

In the Hierarchy report’s Object Results page, the compared BSP components are listed underneath the BSP Applications folder. Entries with BSP Applications in parentheses indicate a comparison of a component name from the Source system and a BSP Application from the target system.
